A sophisticated new-release Riesling by winemaker, Johnson Scutt.
This Riesling was quite literally a discovery! After years of loss due to bird peck, we managed to save a ton of fruit this harvest. What a delight - bone dry, fresh and with all the expression that a twenty year-old vineyard offers. Lemon, lime and white blossom. Subtle minerality with floral notes and a long citrus finish. Enjoy this limited edition hand-made 'discovery' parcel.

Bright, even, pale yellow with a slight green sheen. This has a full bouquet with an earthy note overlying citrus, apple, jasmine and minerals. Medium-bodied, bone-dry to taste, packed with aromas of lime, lime peels, green apple, jasmine and crushed rocks. The mouthfeel is lean and has a stony texture. The taut acidity drives along a crunchy mineral line and lends a crisp, long, tense finish. This Nelson Riesling leads with tension on a bone-dry palate with taut fruit and minerals. Match with blue cod ceviche and clams over the next 5+ years. Handpicked from a 20 y.o. dry-farmed block, destemmed and pressed to ferment in stainless steel tank, 10.5% alc. 336 bottles produced. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Feb 2024 RRP $30
